The Qur'an and hadits are the main sources of Islamic law. As holy books there are recognized as shahih li kulli zaman wa makan, so as sources of Islamic law they have always been used as reference for every problem of life until now. Remember that one of the functions of Islamic law is to answer all the challenges that arise in society. However, social changes always occur in society, while the texts of the holy book and the traditions of the Prophet as Islamic law are limited in number, so Islamic law has dynamics in Ijtihad. Muslims are faced with the challenge of answering questions about where Islam stands in modern life, as well as what form of Islam should be displayed in the face of modernization. Every new challenge that arises is answered by the theologians by exploring the law from its sources through Ijtihad. Even though there is an opinion that the door of ijtihad has been closed, what is really needed is an option that views the door of ijtihad as open and still open. Islamic theologians are required to make innovative efforts to reconstruct the repertoire of Islamic law. One thing that is quite urgent is the efforts of the theologians to continuously carry out ijtihad in the fiqh correctly and responsibly, including in Islamic economic fiqh. This study aims to examine the fiqh method deeply, especially in Islamic economic fiqh.
