Retraction
Manuscript Withdrawal
Authors are discouraged from withdrawing submitted manuscripts after they have entered the publication process, including review, copyediting, layout, or other production stages. During this process, Attarib has already committed editorial resources and time to the manuscript.
If, under any circumstances, the author(s) still request withdrawal, the author(s) are required to reimburse the resources and efforts already invested in processing the manuscript in the amount of IDR 1,500,000.
Withdrawal Request
The withdrawal fee is payable upon an official withdrawal request submitted by the author(s) via email to the Attadrib editorial office, using the same email address used for correspondence regarding the manuscript.
Retraction of Published Articles
Attadrib editors shall consider retracting a publication when there is sufficient reason to question the reliability, originality, legality, ethical integrity, or publication integrity of the work.
Retraction may be considered in the following circumstances:
- There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of a major error, such as miscalculation or experimental error, or as a result of fabrication or falsification, including data or image manipulation.
- The publication constitutes plagiarism.
- The findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper attribution to previous sources, disclosure to the editor, permission to republish, or adequate justification, including cases of redundant publication.
- The publication contains material or data that were used without appropriate authorization.
- Copyright has been infringed or there is another serious legal issue, such as libel or violation of privacy.
- The publication reports unethical research.
- The publication was based solely on a compromised or manipulated peer-review process.
- The author(s) failed to disclose a major competing interest (conflict of interest) that, in the editor's view, would have unduly affected the interpretation of the work or recommendations made by editors and peer reviewers.
Retraction Notices
Retraction notices issued by Attadrib shall:
- Be linked to the retracted article wherever possible, including all available online versions.
- Clearly identify the retracted article, including its title and authors.
- Be clearly identified as a retraction and distinguished from other types of corrections or comments.
- Be published promptly to minimize potential harmful effects.
- Be freely available to all readers and not placed behind access barriers.
- State who is retracting the article.
- Clearly state the reason or reasons for retraction.
- Use objective and factual language and avoid inflammatory language.
Circumstances Where Retraction Is Usually Not Appropriate
Retraction is not usually appropriate in the following circumstances:
- Authorship is disputed but there is no reason to doubt the validity of the findings.
- The main findings remain reliable and a correction can sufficiently address the errors or concerns.
- The editor has inconclusive evidence to support retraction or is awaiting additional information, such as the outcome of an institutional investigation.
- An author conflict of interest is reported after publication but, in the editor's view, is unlikely to have influenced the interpretations, recommendations, or conclusions of the article.
Expression of Concern
Attadrib editors shall consider issuing an Expression of Concern when:
- They receive inconclusive evidence of research or publication misconduct by the authors.
- There is evidence that the findings are unreliable but the author's institution will not investigate the case.
- They believe that an investigation into alleged misconduct related to the publication has not been, or would not be, fair, impartial, or conclusive.
- An investigation is underway but a judgment will not be available for a considerable period of time.
Corrections
Attadrib editors shall consider issuing a correction when:
- A small portion of an otherwise reliable publication proves to be misleading, particularly as a result of an honest error.
- The author or contributor list is incorrect, such as when a deserving author has been omitted or an individual who does not meet the authorship criteria has been included.
